Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we do not, and who else is involved.

EverestBaseCamp.com is a static website. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not run our own advertising network and we do not sell data to anybody.

What we collect ourselves

Nothing directly. There are no forms, no login, no newsletter sign-up and no comment system. If you choose a language from the switcher, that preference is stored in your own browser’s local storage and never leaves your device.

Third-party services

  • GetYourGuide. We load the GetYourGuide widget and partner analytics script so that booking widgets work and bookings can be attributed to us. GetYourGuide may set cookies and process data under its own privacy policy.
  • Trip.com. Accommodation links point to Trip.com, which processes data under its own privacy policy once you follow a link.
  • Google Fonts. Typefaces are loaded from Google’s font service, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
  • Our host. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, page requested) are kept by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics.

Cookies

We set no cookies of our own. Cookies you may encounter come from the GetYourGuide widget and analytics script and from any partner site you click through to. You can block or clear them in your browser settings at any time; doing so does not affect your ability to read this site.

Affiliate tracking

When you click a booking link, our partner id is passed to GetYourGuide or Trip.com so that a resulting booking can be credited to us. We receive aggregated reports — bookings, values, commissions — and never your name, contact details or payment information.

Children

This site is a general-audience travel guide and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws, you have rights of access, correction, erasure and objection over personal data held about you. Because we hold essentially none, most requests are better directed to GetYourGuide, Trip.com or our hosting provider. If you would like help, write to [email protected].

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update this page.
